Calloway - St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church - East Point GA Moody Funeral Home 201 Church Street * Claxton GA 30417 Alonzo (Lonzie) Oglesby was bom to the late Douse & Etta Oglesby in Claxton GA on August 31, 1938. Known as (Lonzie & Lonzo) was a farmer for many years. A man known as one who had nine lives. He encountered many close calls during his life, but with the grace of God he survived. A man who never complained even after he became ill. He was a trooper to the end. He could always bring you laughter when you talked with him. He would pretend he knew what you were talking about, even if he didnt. He created a dance called the Lonzo, with his own special moves. He was a joy to be with. Lonzie lived with his Sister Bereatha for several years in Savannah GA, prior to moving to Fort Lauderdale with Sister Helen, who took care of him until his departure on January 13*^. He was proceeded in death by three brothers; Emitt, J.D. (Claxton) and Rogers (Ft. Lauderdale), one sister: Bereatha Calloway (Savannah). He leaves to cherish his memories two sisters: Lola Houser (George), Helen Holmes. Two Sisters-in-Law, Viola and Grace, one Brother-in-law, Earnest Holmes. A host of Nephews, Nieces and friends who will miss him dearly. The Lonzo dance will continue to be our dance, and will always be done in memory of him. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, 1 will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever 7 ^^qffbearcrs: Charles Oglesby Edward Oglesby Adolphus Oglesby Sr. Adolphus Oglesby Jr. Lavon Oglesby Gregory Holmes interment Hagan Chapel Cemetery Claxton, GA cPcpqst Historic Mt.
