Michael P. Dickerson RECESSIONAL FAREWELL, BUT NEVER GOODBYE Today our hearts as saddened as we gather to say farewell, To a man that was loved and adored by many, as we all can tell. He filled our lives with happiness throughout his many years. He shared in our joys, our laughter, our sorrows and our tears. He imparted so much wisdom and encouragement to us along the way. And no matter how you were feeling, he knew the right words to say. Its hard to imagine him not being with us, no matter how hard I try. But I loiow the time has come to say farewell, but never goodbye. I can see him walking around Heaven doing what brought him joy and peace. Preaching and teaching the Word of God up to everyone hed meet. In my mind I can hear him on his harmonica playing a sweet melody. Visions of him riding on his tractor in the fields keep coming back to me. We all have many wonderful memories, stories and kind words that we can say. These memories will be with us forever because no one can take them away. When sadness tries to overtake me, I picture the smile on his face. When the tears start to flow, I remember his warm and caring embrace. I know he wouldnt want us to be sad, even though its hard not to cry. So lets reflect on his legacy as we say farewell, but never goodbye. Farewell our dear loved one, this is not good-bye. Well see you again one day in our Heavenly home by and by.
