The Evans County native had lived in Hagan all of her life and was employed for 18 years at Claxton Manufacturing Company. She was a faithful employee of Bill and Katherine Bowen for 57 years and enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading. She is a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and is preceded in death by Parents, William and Everleana Coates Batts, Son, William G. Batts, Daughters, Ann Batts and Cherry Batts Thomas. She is survived by Son, William A. Batts of Racine, Wisconsin Grandchildren, Songa Jones, Nikki Cruz (Romanuel), and James Thomas Jr., all of Stone Mountain, Georgia 3 Great-Grandchildren, Ashley Small of Augusta, Georgia, Rashad Small of Statesboro, Georgia, NKarra Thompson of Stone Mountain, Georgia. 1 Great-Great-Grandchild, Zanaiah Terrel of Augusta, Georgia, several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hagan Cemetery.
