 Obituary
Willie Andrew Powell Glover Teal (affectionately
known as Miss Willie) was bom on November 1,
1916 to the union of the late Andrew (Peter) Powell and
Eula Mae (Ninche) Jones Powell in Bartow, GA.
Willie was an active member of her church, Jones
Chapel C.M.E., Bartow, GA. She was united in Holy
Matrimony to Otis Theodis Glover, Sr. The couple
moved to Gordon, GA. for a number of years. The fam-
ily later relocated to Claxton, GA. From this union they
had five children: Wilamena Honey, Louise Evette,
Theodis Jr., Martha Jane and Sherlond Lavon. She was
a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a spiri-
tual nurturer to many others in the Community.
After the death of her husband Otis, she married Rev. J.
W. Teal and became the First Lady of Thomas Grove
A.M.E. Church; serving in that capacity for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband(s)-Otis Theo-
dis Glover, Sr., Rev. J.W. Teal, her parents Andrew and
Eula Mae Powell, Three daughters-Honey, Martha and
Sherlond and her son-Otis Jr.(Tex), two grandsons- Otis
Leonard Lane and Jeffrey Randall Williams and her sib-
lings.
On Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Evans Memorial
Hospital, Inc., Willie answered her Masters call as she
departed this earthly realm.
Willie leaves to mourn, her daughter-Louise Slater-
Williams, thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchil-
dren, seven great-great-grandchildren, two nephews, one
niece and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
God saw you getting tired,
A cure was not to be;
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, Come with me.
With tears in our eyes we watched you.
And saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly.
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating;
Your tender hands at rest.
God took you home to prove to us
He only takes the BEST.
