In ad thy ways achnowCedge dCim anddCe shad direct thy path. On the early morning of Sunday, November 23, 2008, God in His infinite wisdom dispatched an angel of mercy to 312 N. Broad St., Claxton, GA. He Lowered Down His Chariot and escorted His dear child, Christopher Troy Boggs, Sr. to his new residence, a place free of suffering, sorrow and pain. Chris entered this world on January 17, 1966. Reared in a Christian home by his parents, Bobby and Doris Boggs, he was nurtured and taught the love of God, respect for himself and others, strong family values and the Godly principles of life. Chris was endowed by God with a special gift of friendliness, laughter, and hospitahty, touching everyone he came into contact with. There was never a dull nor quiet moment in Chris presence. Because of who he was, Chris accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He joined the Historic Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and actively participated in the Youth, Deacon-in-Training, Laymen, Adult and Male Choir Ministries. Chris practiced good work ethics throughout his life and secured his first job at the age of 15. He was a 1984 graduate of Claxton High School and he later attended Brewton Parker College. In 1988, he began his career in the Georgia Department of Corrections and worked in several Georgia correctional institutions for the past 22 years. Until his health failed, he was employed at Smith State Prison in Glennvdle, GA as Sergeant/Shift Supervisor and Assistant Tactical Squad Commander, (his pride and joy). Boggs, affectionately called by his co-workers, was a umque, dependable and respected leader who took his position seriously. On September 7, 2002, Chris and Chenta Chavis were umted in holy matrimony. As a family man, he reared his children, Candance, Troy, Austin and Kameron according to his inherited principles and values. Chris loved God, his family, his church, his friend and his commumty. He will be sadly missed.
