II Timothy 4:6-7 Mrs. LuVem LeVant Palmer was bom on September 30, 1941 to the late Mr. LaVander and Mrs. Mary LeVant. She was pre- ceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty. On Saturday, June the Lord called her from labor to reward. On March 25, 1960, she was united in holy matrimony to Roo- sevelt Palmer. They were blessed with two children, Greg and Melissa. As a young adult, LuVem joined Green Cypress Missionary Baptist Church. As life continued she was led to unite with First African Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Williams Jr. She dedicated her life to the cause of Christ. She served in numerous positions, including Mission President, Senior Choir member. Church Mother, Community Seniors, where she used her skills to create beauti- ful yo-yo spreads and lap robes. She was an excellent cook and assisted Sister Minnie Lee Leonard in the kitchen at First Afri- can. LuVem was a compassionate listener for anyone who needed a shoulder to lean on. She loved to fish and enjoyed watching NBA games on television. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a beloved sister, a compassionate aunt, and a willing worker for the King- dom of Christ, leaves to mourn two children, Mr. Gregory Palmer, of Claxton, Georgia; Mrs. Melissa Young (Tracy) of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Beretha Cooper (Elsie) and Mrs. Wilhemena Edwards (Charlie) of Claxton, Georgia; two aunts, Mrs. Lucille Mikel (Hubert) of Claxton, Georgia; Mrs. Rose Love of Cincinnati, Ohio; one granddaughter, Ms. Stamesha Williams of Claxton, Georgia; one great grandchild, Airel McKever of Claxton, Georgia, An adopted son, Mr. Wimley Wilcox (Nora) of Vidalia, Georgia; A spiritual daugh- ter, Mrs. Elizabeth Murry, of Claxton, Georgia; and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. tribute Missing You Vern, I am writing this little note to let you know how much I am going to miss you. Sunday morning I was sitting on the side of my bed thinking of how much 1 am going to miss you. When 1 talked to you on Friday, I did not know that 1 was talking to you for the last time. 1 am going to miss our phone calls and how I made you laugh. You laughed so hard and loud until 1 would say, girl you better stop laughing so hard and loud, people will think that you are crazy! I am going to miss all the times we spent together on our fishing trips, Bible study, and the wonderful times at prayer meetings.
