Ive been called away Walk with God, trust in Him each and every day. Freddy Jay Geiger was born June 24,1950 to the late Frank Geiger and the late Ruth Davis Geiger in Evans County, Claxton, Georgia. He was joined in Holy matrimony on June 27, 1975 to Dorothy Mathis. To this union, three children were born. > At an early age Freddy joined Crossroad Missionary Baptist Church, Claxton, Georgia. He attended Sunday school and served in he Usher Ministry. He loved the Lord. He was ordained in the Deacons Ministry. Later he joined First African Baptist Church, Claxton, Georgia. He faithfully served in the Deacon Ministry and the Trustee Ministry. Deacon Geiger loved his church and did whatever he could to serve his master. Deacon Geiger also worked with the boy scouts troops. In 2005, Deacon Geiger was awarded Man of the Year by First African Missionary Baptist church. Deacon Freddy Geiger was a 1968 honor graduate of Evans County High School, Claxton, GA . He was the Valedictorian of hi s class. He was 1972 graduate of Savannah State College, Savannah, Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. Deacon Geiger was employed with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Claxton, Georgia During his 30 years plus service as a mail carrier, he served mankind in a gentle and kind manner. He always had a smile and kind word to say and was affectionately known as the mail man. He received numerous awards for a job well done.
