Dickerson, Eulogist ^ Interment'^ Hagan Chapel Church Cemetery Hagan, Georgia omuvuf Afthof McCoy was bom March 24, 1933, the third child of five children, to the late Clanton McCoy, Sr. and the late OUie Mae Jones McCoy (Williams). He slept away on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. Arthor attended the Evans County Training School and, at an early age, became a member of Hagan Chapel Baptist Church, Hagan, Georgia. In 1952, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Upon returning from his tour of duty, he lived around Evans County (Claxton-Hagan) for a while, working at Bowen Laundry. In 1957, he married Erma Jean Campbell (Thompson). He left Evans County, Georgia, moving to New Jersey and then to Washington, D.C., where he lived until his death. He win be missed by his wife, Priscilla McCoy, Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Gail Simmons, Washington, D.C. and Janice (Derwin) Bell, Waldorf, Maryland; two stepdaughters, Tawanna Tiller and Teresa Stewart, both of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Willie Lee McCoy, Hagan, Georgia and Herschel McCoy, EUzabeth, New Jersey; one sister, VerneUa McCoy Welch, Claxton, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn McCoy and Zehna Woodard, both of Hagan, Georgia; two grandchildren, Ariana and Alexis Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. y?
