Perry McNeal, Pastor Interment: Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery Sunrise 12/20/23 Sunset 1/29/06 Obituary God, our Heavenly Father who doeth all things well and maketh all things work together for the good of those who love Him, called Mr. Henry Ward Beacher Baker to His heavenly home on January 29, 2006. Beacher was the oldest son of the late Mr. Randolph and Mrs. Sudie Holland Baker. He was born in Daisy, Georgia on December 20, 1923. His parents stressed the value of education and working to provide your own living. Beacher became an active member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Nora Connor. On June 1, 1959 he was joined in Holy Matrimony to the former Mamie Futch. To this union, one son was born. He was a veteran of World War II. After his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Manassas, Georgia and resided there for many, many years. Beacher was a member of Saint Josephs Lodge #76 and a chartered member of the Gladiators. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Sudie Hol- land Baker, and three brothers, Walter, James, and Levone. His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Futch Baker of Claxton, Georgia; one son, Mr. Endrei (Almarita) Baker of Claxton, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Beautine Baker Burns (Rev. Tellis Cornelius, Sr.) of Plainfield, Illinois; one brother Mr. Mckinley (Ruby Dell Everett) Baker of Claxton, Georgia; one grandson, Janelius Baker of Clax- ton, Georgia; three sisters-in-law; Mrs. Nita Bell Baker of Claxton, Georgia, Mrs. Robertha Baker of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Mrs. Esther Futch Johnston of Greenville, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Mr. Sylvester Futch, and a host of loving and caring nieces, neph- ews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends and neighbors.
