Obituary 
Mrs. Annie Leah Bacon McNeal, the 5th child of Mr. Horace and Cora 
Bacon was born April 4, 1925 in Evans County, Georgia. She passed into 
eternal rest on Friday, September 8, 2000 at the home of her daughter, Lillie 
Casandra Bivins in Lowndes County, Georgia. 
She joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Claxton, Georgia at an early 
age. She was united in Holy matrimony to Mr. Kizer McNeal on July 11,1943. 
She then moved her church membership to the St. Luke Baptist Church to 
serve God along with her husband. To this union four children were born. 
She served faithfully as the church secretary for approximately 50 years at 
the St. Luke Baptist Church until her health failed. She was active in church 
activities including the mission. 
Annie, often referred to as Ann or Mrs. Ann, was a compassionate soft 
spoken and peaceful person who possessed a quiet strength. She cared 
about her family and friends and was highly respected by many. She was 
actively involved in every aspect in the lives of her children. While working as 
a domestic worker and Nurse Technician, she used all opportunities to heip 
further their life experiences and education. 
She was not a person of many words, often worked in the background, 
served untiringly in whatever task assigned or needed. Demonstrating 
humbleness, she was a loving and obedient daughter, devoted mother, 
cherished sister, beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, and a 
supportive mother-in-law. She maintained a special relationship with her 
mother-in-law, Mrs. Mamie McNeal Stephens and a new found daughter, 
Virginia Green. She also shared a special relationship with her niece Etrenda 
Jones Banks. 
She leaves to emulate her life; her husband, Mr. Kizer McNeal of Daisy, 
GA; three daughters, Brenda Mims (Rev. Ulysses), Lillie Cassandra Bivins 
(Victor) and Bonita Mikel (Ronald); one son, Gcoby McNeal (Louise); she 
shared a loving relationship with her eldest grandson, Lamar (Bootsy) Barnes; 
a loving relationship with two boys she treated as sons, Willie Williams (Ann) 
and Jerry Harden (Peggy); a sister, Rosetta Brown (Clifford); her mother-in- 
law, Mamie Stephens; sisters-in-law, Carlyle Jones Burns and Thelma Bacon; 
five granddaughters, Brittany, Althea, Jawaan, Connie and Candy; six 
grandsons, Lamar, Jerrico, Victor, Stacy, Maurice and Jerry, Jr.; one great- 
granddaughter, Kortni Ellis and a host of other relative and friends.
