Ecclesiastes 3:1 Mrs. Dorothy Polite Nana Mack was born November 7, 1921 to the late James and Lillie Sellers Polite in Bryan County. She met and married Joseph Mack in 1944. They were blessed with two beautiful children; Jimmy and Janice Mack. They raised Wilbur Polite (nephew) as their son. She lived in Claxton most of her adult life. She attended Evans County Public schools. She continued her education by attending College in Charlotte, N.C. She taught school in Dorchester for a brief time. Dorothy joined First Christ Holiness Church in Groveland, GA under the leadership of the late Bishop A .L. Owens in April 1950. In 1952, the mission was formed in Claxton. Later, the mission was moved to Hagan, GA, which is now the present site. There she was appointed church secretary. She served in this position for 47 years (until death). She was the Sunday School Superintendent for numerous years. She was known as Missionary Mack and Aunt Dot. She was a meek and humble person and loved by everyone. She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband-Joseph Mack of Claxton, GA. Three children; Jimmy Mack of Claxton, GA, Janice Jones of Prince George, VA, and Wilbur Polite(nephew) of Pembroke, GA. A wonderful brother and best friend- Elder James H. (Wilbert) Polite of Charleston, S.C. One son-in-law: Leroy Jones of Chester, V.A.. One daughter-in-law: Warwesse Polite(niece) of Pembroke, GA. Ten grandchildren; Twila Torrez of Mary Esther, Fla.; Omar Gunn and Shyra Jones of Prince George, VA.; Corey Polite and Andrea Polite of Savannah, GA; Charlotte, Reginald, Regina, and Nicholas Polite of Pembroke, GA.; and SA Shonda Polite of Norfolk, VA. One grand-son-in-law: Jerry Torrez of Mary Esther, Fla., two great grandchildren: Asonta (Toddy) Polite of Pembroke, GA and Demetris Torrez of Mary Esther, Fla.. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and loving friends.
