PLEASANT CEMETERY SERVICES ENTRUSTED TO: MOODYS EUNERAL HOME 201 CHURCH STREET CLAXTON, GEORGIA PHONE: (912) 739-4932 OBITUARY God Saw The Road Was Getting Rough God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, He gently closed those loving eyes, and whispered peace be thine. The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are past; The ever patient worn-out frame has found sweet rest at last. Last Saturday, one we loved and knew stepped across the threshold that we call death, but it was only a step into another room, and not stepping out of the fellowship of life. It was but a stepping into one of the other rooms of our Fathers house. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army, World War II. He retired from Union Camp after 37 years. He was a fos- ter parent to twenty children during a ten year span. To his family he was loving and faithful, striving always to keep them happy and in material comforts of life. He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife, Mrs. Ida Mae Hagan McClennon, Claxton, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Pantlitz, Reidsville, Ga., and Ms. Catherine Hagan of Claxton, Ga.; three sons, Mr. John McClennon, Albertville, Alabama, Mr. Terry Hagan, Glennville, Ga., and Mr. Lavon Hagan of Carrollton, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Ada Strickland and Mrs. Zonia Garrison, both of Claxton, Ga., Mrs. Zola Mapp, Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Edna Mae Adam, Metter, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. Allen and Mr. Clyde McClennon, both of Claxton, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Davis Hampton and Mr. Danny Jones, both of Claxton, Ga., seventeen grand- children, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in the Claxton area.
