He was the son of Elizebeth Mattox Carter and the late Lattimore Mattox. At an early age, Harry joined Green Cypress Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. P. J. Lyde. His member- ship was greatly appreciated and will be sadly missed among the members, his family, and friends in the congregation. Upon graduation from Claxton High School, Harry attend- ed Savannah State College, In Savannah, Ga., where he ma- jored in History. He shall be saldly missed and mourned by his long loved companion, Patricia Williams; his four daughters. Misses Letreba, Tamiya, and Kalandra Mattox; and Miss Maquita Smith; his three sons, Terrence, Charles, and Keith Mattox; one step- son, Tay Williams; his mother, Elizebeth Mattox Carter and step- father, Henry Carter, all of Claxton, Ga.; two brothers, Marvin Mattox and Thomas Mattox, both of Denver, Colorado; two sister$, Nokaleta Cardriche of Anaheim, California, and Clara Williams of Savannah, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Williams of Savannah, Ga., and James Cardriche of Long Beach, Califor- nia; one sister-in-law, Roberta Mattox; three uncles, J. C. Mikel and Charlie Blocker, both of Claxton, Ga., and Henry Michel of Savannah, Ga.; eight aunts, Annie Lee Bacon, Josie Bell Mickel, Bessie Blocker, Gertrude Scott, Elouise Nails and Ida Mae Littles, of Claxton, Ga., Marietta Berry of Glennville, Ga., and Ruby Mae Mattox of Brunswick, Ga.; two step-aunts, four- step uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
