OBITUARY
On the Wings of death the Soul takes a flight
Into the land where there is no light
For those who believe that the Savior said
Will rise in glory though they be dead
To death comes to us just to Open the Door
To the kingdom of God and life evermore.
Mr. James Thomas Baker was born the son of Ezekiel
and Bessie Baker on July 28, 1943 in Evans County.
James was called by the Heavenly Father to get his
reward at Crisp County Hospital, Cordele, Georgia,
Wednesday, September 20, 1989.
He joined the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church
at an early age under the pastorage of Rev. W. W.
Whitehead.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Freddie Nell
Jones. To this union one daughter was born, which preced-
ed him in death.
James was kind, quite and a friendly person to
everyone he met.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife, Freddie Neil
Baker, Washington, D. C.; Mother, Bessie Baker; Father,
Ezekiel Baker of Claxton, Ga.; one sister, Lollie Mae Byrd
of Hanover, Maryland; three brothers, Albert Lee Baker
of Claxton, Ga., Larry Baker, and Charles Baker of
Washington, D. C.; a devoted companion Bernise Cantrell
of Cordele, Ga.; one brother-in-law, Frank Byrd; two
sisters-in-law, Evelyn Baker and Inez Baker of Washington,
D. C.; three aunts, 7 uncles, three nieces, 3 nephews, and
other relatives and friends.
Memories of the times we know
Memories of the love shared
Even though you had to part
The memories wilt-alWays be in our hearts.
