PERRY McNEAL - PASTOR OFFiCiATiNG iNTERMENT-JERUSALEM CEMETERY HARPERS FUNERAL HOME iN CHARGE CLAXTON, GEORGiA OBITUARY Mrs. Mary Magdeline Shipman Bacon the daughter of Mr. John Shipman and Mrs. Ellen Calhoun Shipman was born May 20, 1897 in Liberty County, Georgia. She received her education in the public schools of Liberty County. She joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She served in the Sunday School Department and on the Deaconess Board. She was a long time member of the Eastern Star Affectionate Chapter #489. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. James Swindell Bacon on May 16, 1916, he has preceeded her in death. Although they had no children they were blessed with eight adopted children of which four have preceeded her in death. On Sunday, November 13, 1988, Mrs. Bacon passed into eternal rest ending a life of sharing and caring, love and devotion. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Mrs. Phoebe Hardee, Bronx, N. Y., and Mrs. Mary Agnes Beamon, Savannah, Ga.; two sons, Mr. Edmond Moody, Detroit, Mich., and Mr. Larmar Moody, Savannah, Ga.; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Mathlene Moody and Mrs. Truemilla Moody; one son-in-law, James L. Beamon; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A precious one from us is gone A voice we loved is still. A spot is vacant in our hearts. The world can never fill.
