St. John Baptist Church CLAXTON, GEORGIA INTERMENT-HAGAN CEMETERY HAGAN, GEORGIA HARPERS FUNERALHOME CLAXTON, GEORGIA OBITUARY Mr. Johnny Russell Baker was born in Evans County, Georgia, January 13, 1919. He was the second son of Mr. Johnny Baker and Mrs. Reather Jackson Baker. He departed this life March 10, 1986. At an early age he joined the St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He was married to Miss Agnes Smith. To this union two children were born, one preceded him in death. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served his country in the Asiatic-Pacific invasion. He leaves to mourn three daughters, Mrs. Bernita Porter and Miss Luretha McDonald, both of Brooklyn, N. Y.; Mrs. Glenda Williams, Claxton, Ga.; two sons; one brother; Mr. Mallory E. Baker of Washington, D. C.; two sons-in-law, Mr. James Porter and Mr. Ronnie Williams, both of Claxton, Ga.; a step-father, Mr. U. C. Sikes of Claxton, Ga.; two aunts, Mrs. Winnie Jane Douglas, Savannah, Ga., and Mrs. Verdie Mae Jackson, Claxton, Ga.; one uncle, Mr. George McDonald, Claxton, Ga.; and two faithful cousins. Miss Hazel Benjamin and Rev. James Benjamin, both of Claxton, Ga. He also leaves to mourn, fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
