First African Baptist Church CLAXTON, GEORGIA INTERMENT: OAK GROVE CEMETERY MANASSAS, GEORGIA HARPERS FUNERAL HOME CLAXTON, GEORGIA IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS OBITUARY Mrs. Mel Rose Daughtry Eason. The daughter of the late Mr. Claman Daughtry and Mrs. Carrie Eason, was born April 25,1921 in Tattnall County. After a short illness she departed this life, Tuesday, April 16, 1985 at Evans Memorial Hospital. At an early age she joined the First A. B. Church where she served until she was unable to attend. She leaves to mourn three daughters, Mrs. Rose Mel Thompson and Mrs. Betty Robbins both of Claxton, Mrs. Jacquiine Eason of New Haven, Conn.; one son, Robert Eason of Statesboro; two sisters Mrs. Pauline McCollum of Brooklet and Mrs. Treasa Mungin of Savannah; one brother, Joesph Daughtry of Sarasota, Fla.; five step brothers and three step sisters; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Jo Eason of Statesboro; two brothers-in-law, Harry McCollum of Brooklet, Archie Mungin of Savannah; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Zola Daughtry of Sarasota, Fla.; four aunts, Mrs. Annie Denmark of Claxton, Mrs. Mattie Smith of Nevils, Mrs. Minnie Lee Denmark, Hollywood, Fla., Mrs. Thelma Hayes, Atlanta,; and two faithful cousins, J. C. Phillips and Lester Warren both of Claxton. She also leaves to mourn nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Also a devoted friend Willie James Lee. God saw the road was getting rough The hills were hard to climb. Then gently closed those loving eyes. And whispered peace be thine.
