SAMUEL CARLYLE, OFFICIATING INTERMENT CEDAR CREEK CEMETERY MANASSAS, GEORGIA HARPERS FUNERAL HOME IN CHARGE CLAXTON, GEORGIA OBITUARY Mrs, Annie Lee Holtnes was born in Tattnaii County, Georgia, Juiy, 1897, to the iate Mr. Wiiiis and Ameiia Lee. in the year of 1915, she was joined in hoiy matrimony to the iate Rev. R. L. Hoimes. Reaiizing that she needed a church home, she joined the Mt. Moriah M.B.C. eariy in iife. She served many areas of work in the church; nameiy, secretary, musician, etc. In the 1920s she moved to Claxton, but remained faithfui to her church untii her heaith faiied her compieteiy in 1979. Other affiiiations: Secretary of the Mt. Caivary Association for years. Member of the W.M.B. Society W. Home Benefit, Knights of Moses and others. She iived a iong and heipfui iife in the community and everywhere she went, she was weii known and wili be missed by ali. In September of 1979, she entered the convalescent home where she remained until she departed this life August 7, about 6:15 p.m. She leaves to mourn her passing, a number of cousins and friends: life long friends, Mr. and Mrs. Arbertee Harris, Claxton, Ga.; and agodchild, Mrs. Beretha Mincey, Bellville, Ga. Mrs. Holmes, Thou art gone to the grave. But we will not deplore thee Since God was thy ransom. Thy Guardian, thy guide. He gave thee. He took thee. He will restore thee.
