OBITUARY 
Mrs. Mary Slater Charles was born in Liberty County, 
Georgia, on January 22,1929, to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Turner Slater, who have preceded her in death. She departed 
this life on November 21, 1981, at four-twenty a.m. at 
Metropolitan General Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. 
At an early age, she joined the Green Cypress Baptist 
Church under the leadership of the Rev. S. B. Stewart where 
she served on the usher board until moving away in 1951 to 
New York. 
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Lattimore 
Charles in the year of 1966. in 1981, she moved to Cieveland, 
Ohio. 
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, 
Lattimore Charles, New York City; one daughter, Claudie 
Mae Wiggins, Claxton, Georgia: one sister. Grade M. Davis, 
Claxton, Ga.; one aunt, Mrs. Alberta Ford, Miami, Fla.; one 
uncle, Mr. Freddie Bennett, Savannah, Ga.; four 
grandchiidren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives 
and friends.
