OBITUARY 
Mrs. Maude Tootle Godbee was born October 20,1902 in 
Hagan, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. 
Minnie Tootle. She departed this life January 20, 1981 at 
Evans Memoriai Hospitai. As a young girl she joined the Mt. 
Caivary Baptist Church. At an early age she was joined in 
Holy Matrimony to Mr. Tom Watson Godbee. To this union 
three chiidren were born, two of which preceded her in death. 
She leaves to mourn a devoted daughter, Mrs. Annie 
Ruth Wallace of Claxton, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Thema 
Levant; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Clint Levant, Claxton, 
Georgia, Mr. Mack Godbee, New Rocheile, N.Y.; one 
sister-in-iaw, Mrs. Carrie Beli Toomer, Savannah, Georgia; 
one son-in-law, Mr. Julius Ceasar Banks, Ciaxton, Georgia; 
five grandchildren, Mrs. Connie Smith, Brunswick, Georgia, 
Mrs. Sara Alice Robinson, Glissen, Germany, Mrs. Catherine 
Murphy, Miss Lynda Wallace and Herbert James Wallace, 
Claxton, Georgia; three grandsons-in-law, five great-grand- 
children, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other 
relatives and friends. 
ASPECIALPERSON 
There was a person in our lives 
That words could not describe. 
This person was so marvelous 
And this we say with pride. 
The special was the one 
Who guided us through our lives 
And gave us all the love we needed 
much more than can suffice 
Besides the love this person gave 
Comes kindness, understanding. 
And trust and these qualities of 
Which we speak are definitely 
A must. Now we must thank 
Dear God above for sending us 
No other but for blessing us 
With just one life; 
The life that was our mother and grandmother 
Sleep on, sleep on, the Golden Gates awake you.
