When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. Mr. Willie Cummings was born in Tattnall County, Georgia, September 8,1896. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steve Cummings. He departed this life Thursday afternoon, January 15, 1981, at Evans Memorial Hospital, Claxton, Georgia, after a long illness. He was a faithful member of Hagan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church were he served as Church Treasurer until he became disabled. In the year of 1942, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Hattie Mae Williams. Mr. Cummings will be greatly missed by many friends and loved ones. He has been called away to a land that is free from sickness, sorrow, pain and death and he shall awake to the newness of life. He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted and loving wife, Mrs. Hattie Cummings, Claxton, Georgia, one son, Mr. Henry Johnson of Reidsville, Georgia, one daughter, Mrs. Rose Lee Mincey of Claxton, Georgia, one brother, Mr. Buster Cummings, Boston, Mass., one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Estella Johnson of Reidsville, Georgia, one son-in-law, Mr. Ralph Mincey of Claxton, Georgia; 12 grandchildren, 17 relatives and friends.
