ANDERSON, PASTOR - OFFICIATING BURIAL-CHURCH CEMETERY HARPERS FUNERALHOME IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS OBITUARY Robert Williams, the youngest son of the late Mr. Joe Williams and Mrs. Lizzie Williams, was born in Tattnall County, Georgia, March 15, 1911 and departed this life Friday, May 26, 1978 at Evans Memorial Hospital, Claxton, Georgia. At an early age he joined the Hagan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained as a deacon under the pastorage of Rev. J. P. Porter. On July 14,1934 he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Miss Emma Williams. To this union five children were born, of which one is deceased. Deacon Williams lived an active and useful life. In addition to being a Deacon of the Hagan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, he served as a Sunday School Teacher, President of the Mutual Ushers Union and a member of St. Joseph Lodge No. 76. He was employed by the Evans County Board of Education as a custodian for 30 years. He leaves to mourn, a devoted wife, Mrs. Emma Williams, Claxton, Ga.; two sons, Mr. Leandrus Williams, Queens, N. Y. and Mr. Johnny Williams, Savannah, Ga.; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Winfree, Mt. Vernon, N. Y., Mrs. Geraldine Mincey, Glennville, Ga. and Miss Vivian Williams, Claxton, Ga.; one brother, Mr. Willie Williams, Glennville, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Johnson, Claxton, Ga. and Mrs. Ella Tootle, Savannah, Ga.; three daughters-in- law, Mrs. Louise Williams, Mrs. Doris Williams and Mrs. Clara Williams; two sons-in-law, Mr. William Winfree and Mr. Dorsey Mincey; seven sisters-in-law; 6 brothers-in-law; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
