JAMES ELLISTON, PASTOR INTERMENT-HAGAN CEMETERY HARPERS FUNERALHOME IN CHARGE OBITUARY Early Monday morning, November 29,1976, an angel of silence entered the Claxton Nursing Home and sealed the lips of Mrs. Sallie Ann Macon. Her soul winged flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain, to a place of peace and eternal rest. She was born in Warsaw, N. C. on February 23,1876, to Mr. and Mrs. Hill. She moved to Georgia with her family at an early age and settled in this area. She joined Hagan Chapel Baptist Church and later moved her membership to St. John Baptist Church of Claxton where she served faithfully until her health began to fail. She was married in her youth to Mr. Sam Brown and more recently to Rev. A. M. Macon, both of whom preceded her in death. Three children have also preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, Mrs. Novella Henley, Claxton, Ga., Mrs. Corrinne Kent, Savannah, Ga., and Mrs. Lilia Bryant, Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Mr. Raleigh Macon, Claxton; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bernice Macon, Claxton; one step-daughter, Mrs. Arie Middleton and two step-sons, Mr. Emory Macon and Mr. Ed Macon, all of Savannah, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Maggie Bailey, Claxton; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; several neices, nephews, and other relatives.
