LYDE, PASTOR OFFICIATING OBITUARY The late Mr. Roosevelt Brewton, Sr., was born in Statesboro, Georgia, on May 20, 1909. He was married to Miss Gertrude Holmes and to this union 4 children were bom. He was a faithful member of Green Cypress Baptist Church for many years. He departed this life May 14,1972, at the Me- morial Medical Center, Savannah, Georgia. He leaves to mourn a loving wife, Mrs. Ger- trude Brewton, Claxton, Ga.; 4 children. Miss Eu- delle, Brewton, New Rochelle, N. Y., Sergeant First Class Roosevelt Brewton, Jr., Fort Jackson, S. C., Mr. Donnell Brewton, Claxton, Ga., and Mrs. Frieda M. Travis, Tallahassee, Fla.; 2 broth- ers, Robert and Jay B. Brewton of New Rochelle, N. Y.; one half-sister, Mrs. Cleon Brown, Phila- delphia, Pennsylvania; four half-brothers, Theo, Lee, Eugene and Wilbert Martin, all of States- boro, Ga.; two grand children; one aunt. Miss Nellie Martin; one daughter-in-law; one son-in- law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. It grieves my heart, tis hard to part. With one who was so kind; Where shall I go to tell my woe. Or ease my troubled mind?
