Bernard Bacon, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lander Bacon, was born in Evans County, Georgia, April 1, 1949, and departed this life May 14, 1970, in Vietnam. He attended the public schools of Evans County, and was a member of the Graduating Class of 1968 of the Evans Coun- ty High School, Claxton, Ga. He was drafted into the United States Army July 10, 1968. Dur- ing the summer of 1969, he was called to duty in Vietnam.
