FUNERAL SERVICES DEACON miUl HARMON BREWTON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, 1969 2:00 P.M. HAGAN CHAPEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH HAGAN, GEORGIA REV. R. A. RELLE, PASTOR Obituary It is said there are three words in the English Vocabulary that are more solemn than all the others. They are Life, Death, and Eternity. Life is more serious than Death. To live is more serious than to die. The object of Christs Death was Life. When we take the wires of a bird cage apart, we do not hurt the bird, we help it, we let it out of prison, so it is when death comes to one who has suffered. The character of this skitch was born in Tattnall County, March 8, 1893 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Brewton. At an early age he joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Claxton, Georgia. He later connected himself with the Hagan Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. D. H. Hobbs. He was united in marriage to the late Miss Mamie Kennedy. To this union four children were born, one preceded him in death. On April 18, 1925 he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Rosa Lee Kennedy. Dea. Brewton lived a fruitful life, serving as Chairman of the Deacon Board for a number of years. He was a Senior Sunday School Teacher, and a member of St. Joseph Lodge No. 76, Claxton, Georgia. He departed this life, June 1, 1969. Survivors are a loving wife, Mrs. Rosa Lee Brewton; one son, Mr. Bennie Brewton, Savannah, Georgia; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Small, Claxton, Georgia, Mrs. Blanche Releford, Philidelphia, Penn- sylvania; one brother, Mr. Doyle Brewton, Savannah, Georgia; one step-son, Mr. George Kennedy, Waycross, Georgia; one son-in-law, Mr. Johnny Small, Claxton, Georgia; 1 grandson; 6 great-grandsons, and a host of other relatives and friends.
