LAWERENCE, PASTOR INTERMENT - MT. PLEASANT CEMETERY HARPERS FUNERAL HOME IN CH/'.RGE OBITUARY Mr, Kelly Samuel Ricks was born in Adrian, Ga., Oct. 7, 1892, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Zack Ricks. He came to Claxton, Ga, in 1912 and united himself with the First African Baptist Church. On Dec. 15, 1916, he married the former Miss Rosa Lee Jones. To this union four children were born. Deacon K. S. Ricks lived a very fruitful and faithful life. He was President of the Mt, Calvery Sunday School Convention, Superintendent of the F. A, B. Sunday School. He preached his trial sermon on July 14, 1968. He leaves to mourn a loving wife, Mrs. Rosa L. Ricks; a devoted daughter. Miss Mary A. Ricks of Claxton, Ga.; four sons, Mr. Earl Ricks, Claxton, Ga., Mr. Kelly Ricks, Jr., Mr. Adrian Ricks of New Rocheue, .. T., Mr. Mallary E. Baker of Washington, D. C.; four daughters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Ricks, Mrs. Eva Ricks of New Rochelle, N. Y., Mrs. Ollie M. Ricks of Claxton, Ga., and Mrs. Andrew Lee Baker of Washington, D. C,; fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three broth- ers, Mr. Harmon Ricks, Mr. Luther Ricks and Mr. Percy Ricks, all of Adrian, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Donna Smith, Miss Mollie Ricks, Mrs. Cindy Washington, al of Adrian, Ga., Mrs. Delmus Palmer of Tampa, Florida; four brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends Not till the loom is silent And the shuttles cease to fly Shall God imroll the curtain And explain the reason why The dark threads are so needful In the weaver's skillful hand As the threads of gold and silver In the pattern.
