OBITUARY 
Rev. S. L. Lee, the second child of the late Rev. and Mrs. W. L. 
Lee, was bom in Tattnall County. He was converted in his early life, 
and joined the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at Manassas, Ga., under a 
pastorate of the late Rev. A. M. Macon. He was inducted into the U. 
S. Army in 1918 and served until peace was declared. 
He was married to the late Mrs. Pearl B. Lee, who deceased in the 
year of 1961. 
Rev. Lee was called to the Gospel Ministry, and was Ordained on 
the 25th day of June, 1921, under the pastorate of the late Rev. D. H. 
Hobbs at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Manassas, Ga. 
Rev. Lee Pastured the following Churches; F. A. B. Baptist Church, 
Claxton, Ga. for 29 years; Springfield Baptist Church, Reidsville, Ga. 
for 31 years; New Hope Baptist Church, Register, Ga. for 12 years; 
Alston Baptist Church, Alston, Ga. for 27 years; Tarrytown Baptist 
Church, Tarrytown, Ga. for 12 years. 
Rev. Lee served as President of the Mt. Calvary Sunday School 
Convention for 7 years, and as Moderator of the Mt. Calvary Mission- 
ary Baptist Association from 1951 until 1967, when he became unable 
to serve, and was elected as Moderator Emeritis until death. He was 
a good Preacher and a great Pastor. 
He was in the Veterans Hospital, Dublin, Ga., from May 15, 1967 
to August 9, 1968, when he came home. He departed this life August 
18, 1968 at the home of his sister. 
He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted sister, Mrs. Annie L. 
Holmes, Claxton, Ga.; one brother, Mr. David Lee, Claxton, Ga.; a 
son, Mr. Sylelza Harris, Philadelphia, Pa.; a niece. Miss Beatrice Lee, 
Philadelphia, Pa.; cousins, Mr. Calvin Campbell, Claxton, Ga.; Mr. Elie 
Rogers, Pembroke, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. 
For those who lived and served, doth not appear what they should 
be, but when Jesus calls them to Him, they will be like Him forever.
