Obituary 
 
The late Mrs. Gewreka Jones was born in Tattnall Coun- 
ty, Hagan, Georgia, October 15, 1900. She was the daughter 
of Mrs. Sallie Macon, 
She joined the St. John Baptist Church at an early age, 
under the Pastorate of Rev. T. S. Douse and served her 
church and community as a dedicated Christian. 
On June 5, 1921, she was united in marriage with James 
P. Jones, who has preceded her in death. To this union, six 
children were born; two of which are deceased. She departed 
this life November 15, 1967, at her home in Claxton, Georgia. 
She leaves to mourn, a loving mother, Mrs. Sallie Macon, 
Claxton, Georgia; four children, J. Randolph Jones, Mrs. 
DeAlva Jones, Reno J. Jones and Mrs. Mildred J. Rock; three 
sisters, Mrs. Novella Henley, Claxton, Georgia, Mrs. Corine 
Kent, Savannah, Georgia and Mrs. Lilia Bryant, Pittsburgh, 
Pa.; one brother, Mr. Raleigh Macon, Claxton, Ga.; one 
daughter-in-law; one brother-in-law; one son-in-law; one sister- 
in-law; three nieces; three nephews; two grand nieces; four 
grand nephews; one great-grandchild, and a host of other 
relatives and friends.
