Mathews acknowledges the receipt of Elholm's letter (tcc927) and indicates that Georgia supports the state of Franklin. Mathews also notes that Georgia is in a difficult situation at present, having entered into war with the Creek Indians. He asks Elholm to relay this news and he asserts that Georgia will require the assistance of the state of Franklin in repelling the Creeks.
