United States, Georgia, 32.75042, -83.50018Hawkins, Benjamin, 1754-18161814-06-15This is a letter dated June 15, 1814 from Colonel Benjamin Hawkins, U.S. Agent to the Creeks, to Georgia Governor Peter Early (1813-1815). Hawkins reports that some "friendly" Creek Indians along the Flint River had their cattle stolen by white Georgians while the former were in service with the Georgia militia against "hostile" (or Red Stick) Creeks. He says that two of these parties of white men are headed by Claborn Foster and Daniel Ellis.
