Page: [1] State of Georgia Jefferson County Before me Horatio Marbury one of the Justices assigned to keep the peace for the county aforesaid, personally appeared George Spann of the County of Montgomery in the said State- And made oath that on the first day of August last this deponent was at the House of Samuel Berrehill on the Alatamaha river and at the request of Mrs. Berrehill, apprehended a negroe [negro] by the name of Bob - which said negroe [negro] told this deponant [deponent], that he came from the little Chehaw Town in the Creek nation of Indians This Deponant [Deponent] saith that he was bringing the said negroe [negro] bob. to the Seat of Government, and on the 18th. day of Septemr. [September] after, in washington County at the House of Thomas Basemore, was feloniously robbed by force of arms by John Ford and Page: [2] James Adamson of the aforesaid Negroe [Negro] Bob.
