Loyd states that when names were taken in for draws in the land lottery that was to dispose of the former Creek lands in the counties of Early, Appling, Irwin, Walton, Gwinnett, and Hall, there was no person by the name of Burmville or Burnville Matthews, only someone named either Burwell or Burrell Matthews.
