Gilmore of Morgan County, Georgia stating that the name of Burnwell Matthews, and not Burmville or Burnville Matthews, appears in the list of persons entitled to a draw in the recent land lottery that disposed of former Creek lands in the counties of Early, Irwin, and Appling.  The land was distributed pursuant to the Treaty of Indian Springs, signed January 8, 1821.
