Smith dated December 2, 1789 at Augusta. Smith, who performed printing services for the state in 1789, includes with his petition a detailed financial account of all services rendered and the value of those services in both specie and the paper medium. Among the documents that Smith printed were copies of talks given to the Creek Indians by state commissioners, lists of military expenditures, and copies of a letter from Creek leader Alexander McGillivray to John Galphin. The back of the petition is signed by auditor John Wereat, who finds Smith's financial records to be in good order.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc792</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 37, folder 23, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:subject>McGillivray, Alexander, ca. 1740-1793</dc:subject><dc:title>Petition [with] account, 1789 Dec. 2, to the House of Representatives of Georgia / John E.
