United States, Georgia, 32.75042, -83.50018United States, Tennessee, 35.75035, -86.25027McMinn, Joseph, 1758-18241818-06-27Joseph McMinn, Governor of Tennessee (1815-1821) writes to Georgia Governor William Rabun (1817-1819) on June 27, 1818 to inform him that the states' commissioners have extended the boundary line according to the territory ceded by the last treaty (probably the Treaty of Cherokee Agency, July 8, 1817) as far as necessary. McMinn informs Rabun that Joseph Vann has complained to him that settlers are encroaching on his estate, and McMinn points out that Vann has a right to remain there unmolested until he is compensated, in accordance with the treaty, for at least the improvements he has made.
