McMinn relates that he was traveling to Nickajack with several Tennessee commissioners to meet with commissioners from Georgia when they were delayed by official notification from unnamed Cherokee chiefs, who voiced protest against the opinion of the two states regarding the boundary. McMinn indicates that he intends to meet with the chiefs who signed the protest and persuade them to withdraw their objections.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc773</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 06, folder 08, document 02.</dc:source><dc:subject>Cherokee Indians--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:subject>Boundaries</dc:subject><dc:title>Letter, 1818 May 16, Look-out Mountain, [Cherokee Nation ? to] William Rabun, Governor of Georgia, Milledgeville, [Georgia] / Joseph McMinn, Governor of Tennessee</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
