Elholm to Georgia Governor George Mathews (1787-1788, 1793-1796). Elholm informs Mathews about the organization of militia in Camden County, Georgia, and the enclosures he forwards (dated February 1794) pertain to the selection of officers, fortification of waterways and settlements, appointment of spies, provision of supplies and horses, and muster of troops in that vicinity. In particular, Colerain Station is said to be threatened by Indians (probably Creeks) who have recently taken possession of territory that was evacuated by the Spanish along the St. Marys River. Also enclosed is a muster roll of the Glynn County dragoons, dated March 1794.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc754</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 05, folder 04, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Warfare</dc:subject><dc:subject>Georgia.
