Page: [1] At Camp 7th District 4th Section June 28th. 1832 Dear Sir, I received a verbal Message from you last evening through Mr Fowler, seeking an enquiry, into the progress of my Survey. I have the Satisfaction to inform you, I anticipate, the completion of my labours [labors] by the 7th of July= The [deleted text: [illegible text] ] completion of this District has been protracted by my having a double duty assigned me, to wit, of surveying two Districts The 19th in the 4th Section, I surveyed first, and reported some three weeks or more, to his Excellency the Governor I believe all the Surveyors in the 4th Section, except myself have ended their labours [labors] and gone home. I have experienced the most unqualified friendship, and marked attention of kindness from the Indians and in return have treated [added text: them ] with the same reciprocity & in no instance have given them just cause of complaint: I have also endeavoured [endeavored] to impress on their minds, the friendly feeling entertained for them by Georgia, and the liberal & magnanimous course she intended to pursue towards them.
