Page: [1] Copy + Lowndes County Decr [December] 29th 1842 To his Excellency Charles J McDonald Sir your communication dated 23 Novr [November] enclosing a packet to Col. [Colonel] Worth reached me this day its delay I suppose is owing to the failure of the mail for two or Three weeks to reach here, In obedience to your order I have placed in the hands of Joseph J Cohen the packet directed to Col. [Colonel] Worth with Instruction to deliver it to the Col. at Tampa Bay where he holds head Quarters I also have sent a letter to Col [Colonel] Worth such additional information as I have obtained since I had the honor to address you Last, and assureing [assuring] him of the certainty of Indians being in the Country I will go in person and search with Capts Johnson and Morgan and ascertain if Possible if the Indians are in the State and their probable Number.
