Extract of a Letter from Capt J [John]  J Johnson 
 
Dated Fort Gilmer,  
August 9th 1842 
A report has reached us from the United States post that Col. Worth is suspended from the Command, and something like five Hundred Indians have made their escape. we have no news of Indians in this section but are on the look out for if these Indians have escaped from Col. Worth we shall soon have plenty of them here
