Dear Sir 
I fear I shall intrude on your patience by asking favors. But hope you will permit me through this medium to ask the favor of an Office in the Service. any that you can give consistent with duty will be acceptable. But the office of Pay master in this division will be most acceptable. I can comply with all the requisites and think I can discharge the duties of the Office with propriety.  
I have been honored with a Majors Commission in the strong States right County of Laurens and now have the Command of the 81st Battalion. But would like well to try my skill at Indian fighting or any thing that will put me [word ommitted: in ]  service.
