I Recd [Received]  yours of the  
24th inclosing a map of the late surveys this evening The Indisposition of Mrs Bowen has prevented me from going up into this country sooner but I will the next week ride through the county & try to assertain [ascertain]  what you request in relation to the Indians as well as the Superintendents for the Elections  
My Reason for recommending persons living in this county for this purpose was the opinion I had formed that there was few if any of capacity & Integrity Sufficient. I will However assertain [ascertain]  the fact & communicate the result to you
