He mentions Benjamin's successful service to the state in laying out the districts of Early County despite his difficulty in securing an Indian guard. Such a guard was considered indispensable at the time.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc477</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 48, folder 06, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Indians of North America--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:subject>Surveying</dc:subject><dc:subject>Sturges, Benjamin</dc:subject><dc:title>Letter, 1821 Aug. 8, Milledgeville, [Georgia to John Clark,] Governor [of Georgia] / Daniel Sturges</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
