Blair and Glascock write from the Cherokee agency to inform Clark that no Cherokees have assembled to meet with them and in order to avoid further delays, they have united with the United States treaty commissioners in drafting an address (see tcc054) to the Cherokees impressing on them the importance of their attendance at such meetings. Return J. Meigs, U.S. agent to the Cherokees, is mentioned.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc473</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 48, folder 08, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Cherokee Indians--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:subject>Cherokee Indians--Treaties</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indian agents</dc:subject><dc:title>Letter, 1823 Jan. 21, Cherokee Agency [to] Governor of Georgia [John] Clark / James Blair [and] Thomas Glascock</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
