Kendall complains of misconduct by the person appointed to conduct the lottery and explains his evidence. In a postscript, Kendall also refers to allegations that General David B. Mitchell, former Governor of Georgia (1809-1813, 1815-1817) and U.S. Agent to the Creek Indians, was involved in smuggling slaves into the states and indicates his opinion regarding Mitchell's guilt.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc469</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 48, folder 04, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Treaties</dc:subject><dc:subject>Cherokee Indians--Treaties</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indian land transfers</dc:subject><dc:subject>Slave traders</dc:subject><dc:subject>Land grants</dc:subject><dc:subject>Mitchell, David B., 1766-1837</dc:subject><dc:title>Letter, 1820 Mar. 19, Hancock County, Georgia to John Clark, Gov[ernor] of Georgia, Milledgeville, [Georgia] / David Kendall</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
