July 1820 Dear sir I had the honor of receiving your favor by the last Mail relative to a treaty with the Creek Nation I find your Excellency has honored me with an appointment as one of the State commissioners. I feel myself bound to except [accept] the appointment, and doe [do] it with pleasure. The Desire you have to see the commissioners at Milledgeville prevous [previous] to the convention of the Indians meets my veiws [views] on this business, I have an earnest wish to consult [added text: you ] on the whole plan to be persued [pursued] at the treaty. and will attend at Milledgeville at any time when I know that Genl.
