[Governor] of Ga. [Captain] Wright -- As this is from a Source on which I can place full reliance I thought it would be proper to inform you of it... I am not personally acquainted with you, but I am known to Mr Hammond your Secy. [Secretary] of State & I was also known to the late Governor to whom I used to communicate any thing that I thought for the benefit of the State & I conceive that the Justices of the Infr. [Inferior] Courts of the Page: [4] different Counties are the guardians of the public tranquility & that it becomes their duty to inform the Executive of any thing that may affect the vital Interest of the State, & the Safety of its Inhabitants -- I have written to Genl [General] John Floyd & to Major Wm Baily acquainting them with these facts -- In case of any publication of any parts of my Letter to you, I do not wish my name to be made public, but Shall be satisfied with having done my duty & keeping an eye on the affairs of Florida for the mutual benefit of that & this Country.
