Williams sworn to before Josiah Everitt, (Justice of the Peace ?) on February 19, 1814 in Pulaski County, Georgia. Williams relates first and secondhand accounts of James A. Everett of Montfort, Everett and Company, Hartford, Georgia trading with the Creeks. According to Williams, Everett received cattle from the Creeks, and Creeks were seen at Everett's store, leaving with their packs full and bars of lead hanging from their belts. These Indians are said to be hostile toward the white settlers, having purportedly scalped a man. Other documents relative to the charges against Everett also appear in the Southeastern Native American Documents Database as tcc416 and tcc417.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc418</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 47, folder 02, document 04.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Commerce</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indian traders</dc:subject><dc:title>Affidavit relative to the conduct of James A.
