Mitchell (1809-1813, 1815-1817), dated August 28, 1813. Barnard complains about the recent actions of white citizens in Hartford (Pulaski County, Georgia). The conflict between Upper and Lower Creeks was escalating, and the whites in the area were committing depredations on the "friendly" Lower Creeks in their haste to punish the "enemy" Upper Creeks. He mentions specific criminal acts on the part of Hartford citizens and informs the governor that the Lower Creeks were anxious for assistance from the whites.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc410</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 46, folder 14, document 08.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Violence against</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indian agents</dc:subject><dc:subject>Creek War, 1813-1814</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1813 Aug. 28, Flint River, [Georgia to] Governor of Georgia David B.
